Position Summary The ESOL Instructor (Part Time) will conduct classes to teach adults how to effectively communicate in English. This person will create lesson plans and syllabus to present to the program manager and students. The instructor will organize learning materials, evaluating progress, and design strategies to make learners feel comfortable.

Key Duties

Designing and preparing syllabus and lesson plans for assigned classes.

Designing and delivering English language lessons to students with varying levels of proficiency.

Implementing lesson plans that incorporate grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, and writing skills.

Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback on language development.

Enter attendance data and case notes into DYCD Connect.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study required.

Bilingual English/Spanish, required.

1 - 2 years of relevant experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office with basic computer data entry skills.

Commitment to excellence and to providing quality service to program participants.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule Onsite, Bronx, NY, Monday through Thursdays 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm or Monday through Thursday 6:00-9:00 pm

Starting Compensation Minimum: $35.00 per hour; Maximum: $35.00 per hour
