Employment Type Full‑Time

Description Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in a health/fitness center.

The hourly rate for this position is $20/hour with a full‑time schedule of 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Monday to Friday schedule, no weekend work

Responsibilities

Supervise exercise areas

Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques

Teach group exercise classes

Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines

Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high‑risk participants and special populations

Aid members—spotting and equipment usage

Explain all equipment

Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of all equipment

Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures

Adhere to client’s policies and procedures

Attend staff meetings

Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events

Perform daily administrative duties

Qualifications

B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related health/fitness field

Active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA, or other NCCA accredited certification)

Active CPR certification

0‑1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises

All candidates must be able to complete a background check and federal security clearance.
