Skilled Highway Laborer Substitute
The Longmeadow Public Works Department has an immediate need for a Skilled Highway Laborer Substitute to assist in providing skilled manual labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and public spaces, assisting in the maintenance of the highway department equipment and grounds.
Responsibilities
Daily maintenance of parks and recreation facilities and grounds, including removal of garbage, snow removal, mowing lawns, cutting shrubs, lining playing fields, and overall upkeep of playing fields.
Qualifications
Knowledge of relevant Massachusetts General Laws related to essential functions.
Ability to multi‑task and manage conflict, communicate effectively orally and in writing, maintain good public relations and stay professional with Town departments, department heads, fellow employees, officials, and the public, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Strong communication skills, problem‑solving skills, and customer service skills.
High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.
Minimum age 18 years, valid CDL Class B driver’s license, and must pass a CORI check.
