The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of instruments and equipment used in manufacturing, quality control (QC), and research & development (R&D) within a chemical production environment. This role ensures accuracy, reliability, and compliance of measurement systems critical to process control, product quality, and safety. This role will be supporting multiple plants within the Cincinnati area.**Key Responsibilities*** Perform or organize external resources to conduct routine and non-routine calibration of instruments and control devices used in production (e.g., pressure gauges, flow meters, pH probes, scales, temperature sensors, conductivity meters).* Perform or organize external resources to conduct routine and non-routine calibration of analytical lab instruments (e.g., titrators, spectrophotometers, viscometers) used in QC and R&D environments.* Calibrate or organize external resources to conduct and maintain environmental monitoring and safety-critical instruments (e.g., gas detectors, temperature alarms, pressure relief devices).* Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues or out-of-tolerance conditions promptly either themselves, with internal maintenance support, or by coordinating external contractors.* Drive the implementation and improvement of calibration procedures, tacking mechanism, labelling, tools, and systems. Develop and maintain standard work instruction for all relevant processes. Assist with training of other team members as needed.* Maintain and manage calibration records, certificates, and schedules in accordance with company SOPs and applicable regulatory standards (e.g., NIST traceability, ISO9001).* Maintain QA documentation and COA's.* Ensure all tools and instruments are properly identified, labeled, and within calibration date.* Assist with the onboarding of new equipment and ensure proper qualification/ calibration before release to operations.* Ensure compliance with EHS requirements when handling instruments exposed to hazardous chemicals or classified areas.* Participate in internal and external audits, providing calibration documentation and demonstrating compliance practices.* Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to schedule and complete calibrations with minimal operational disruption.* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and comply with all safety procedures.* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest improvements to calibration practices or procedures.**Qualifications*** High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in instrumentation, electronics, or related field preferred.* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in calibration or instrumentation, preferably in a chemical, regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.* Working knowledge of chemical process instrumentation and lab equipment and calibration standards GMP, ISO/IEC 17025, and NIST traceability requirements.* Familiarity with calibration tools and software systems.* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs.* Basic computer skills; experience with CMMS or calibration management software is a plus.* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, accuracy, and recordkeeping.* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and across departments.* Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and work safely in areas with potential exposure to hazardous chemical* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of industrial environments.**Preferred*** Prior exposure to chemical batch production environments.* Familiarity with D365 ERP systems and electronic documentation.* Experience with automated control systems and PLC interfaces is a plus.* Calibration technician certification (e.g., ASQ CCT) is desirable.#INDOPSDuBois provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, disability, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, service in the military, veteran status, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state, and/or local law and/or regulation.# Values and Culture## Working at DuBois is dynamic, flexible and fun.
