Job Summary:
One of the state's first brew pubs, Federal Jack's is also the birthplace of Shipyard Brewing Company’s award winning line of handcrafted ales. Located at 8 Western Ave in Kennebunk, this airy, seminal Maine tavern offers upscale grub & water views with its signature house‑made ales. As Dishwasher, you will be responsible for ensuring your tasks are completed as a constant flow and all safety and sanitization standards are followed in our popular pub. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a fast‑paced kitchen, as well as the ability to work well under pressure. You will be an important part of a dedicated team who knows the importance of communication and willingness it takes to create the delicious food that we are known for.
Responsibilities
Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to efficiently clean dishes, glassware, and utensils
Safely handle and wash delicate and large kitchen items
Properly sort, stack, and store clean dishes for easy access by the kitchen staff
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen stations
Assist with maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen, including sweeping, mopping, and removing trash
Adhere to health and safety standards, following proper sanitation procedures
Collaborate with the kitchen team to support the flow of service and maintain a well‑functioning kitchen environment
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar role is a plus, but not required
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
