A.T. Still University’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) seeks an exempt, full-time Assistant Director of Admissions on its Kirksville, Missouri campus. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Research and will recruit, retain, and support students throughout the admissions process, working collaboratively with applicants and enrolled students to foster a diverse and inclusive student population.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prescreen 1500+ MOSDOH applicant files and select qualified candidates for interview (August‑February).
Recruit and retain students from historically underrepresented groups to create a diverse student population.
Collaborate with the ATSU Office of Diversity & Inclusion on pipeline programs and articulation agreements / Still Scholars programs.
Build relationships with other dental/medical schools to foster collaborative outreach.
Interview incoming MOSDOH applicants weekly during the interview cycle (October‑March).
Track immunizations to ensure students comply with required immunizations (D1‑D4).
Plan retention events for MOSDOH accepted students at the St. Louis Dental Center.
Provide data for the Strategic Outcomes annual meeting.
Coordinate and manage student transfer requests.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Three to five years of relevant experience.
Requirements
Ability to de‑escalate conflict or confrontation.
Crisis management and problem‑solving skills.
Polished written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer skills, including social networking and internet‑based education.
Organizational skills, independent problem‑solving abilities, professional office and phone etiquette, effective time management, and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and manage sensitive information.
Special Skills or Personality Traits
Team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
Diplomatic, organized, discerning, calm, adaptable, motivated.
