Job Overview
A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) is seeking an exempt, full-time Assistant Director of Admissions for the Kirksville, Missouri campus. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Research.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for file prescreening and student recruitment efforts within MOSDOH.
Admissions (file prescreening & recruitment efforts):
Prescreen 1500+ MOSDOH applicant files and select those that are qualified to interview on campus (Aug-Feb).
Collaborate with the ATU office of Diversity & Inclusion on pipeline programs.
Identify colleges & work with Admissions & Diversity and Inclusion office on developing articulation agreements/Still Scholars programs.
Work with the Diversity & Inclusion office to create a working relationship with other dental/medical schools to foster collaborative outreach relationships.
Recruit and retain students from historically underrepresented groups to create a diverse student population.
Interview incoming MOSDOH applicants weekly during the interview cycle (Oct-Mar).
Track immunizations & ensure students are in compliance with required immunizations (D1-D4).
Plan retention events for MOSDOH accepted students at the St. Louis Dental Center.
Provide data for the Strategic Outcomes annual meeting.
Coordinate and manage student transfer requests to the program.
Requirements Education & Experience
Bachelor degree required.
Three to five years experience.
Ability to de-escalate conflict or confrontation.
Crisis management.
Problem‑solving skills.
Polished written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, computer skills—including social networking and internet based education, organizational skills, independent problem solving skills, professional office and phone etiquette, effective time management, detail oriented.
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities; recognize, manage, and protect sensitive information.
Special Skills or Personality Traits
This person must be a team player, willing to work independently and closely with others.
Treat students, faculty, staff in a collegial manner; self-directed and take initiative.
Diplomatic, organized, discerning, calm and not prone to panic, adaptable, motivated, multi-tasking, independent thinking, problem solving, humble, detailed oriented, not phased by change, being a part of a solution to a problem, tolerant.
