Overview The Greece/Legacy Class Desk Support Engineer will provide support to the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will be providing Class Desk support with responsibilities involving the coordination of sustainment efforts with Greece. The candidate will provide technical leadership to identify, diagnose and resolve complex engineering issues that can be complex and require a comprehensive understanding of H-60 aircraft systems and subsystems. The candidate will coordinate engineering support with NAVAIR’s engineering divisions, external field engineering facilities and test sites. The candidate will ensure that engineering resources are applied to issues in a timely and effective manner to ensure effective program execution.
Primary Duties
Support Greece/Legacy Class Desk programs, concentrating on sustainment efforts, managing legacy equipment, and addressing obsolescence issues to ensure continued mission readiness.
Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military aircraft and weapons systems.
Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
Apply systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
Analyze, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills
Self‑starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to work within a challenging, fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi‑task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines
Detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues
Ability to adapt to evolving technology
Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise.
Prior experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs and processes.
Demonstrated experience supporting sustainment activities for military systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Hands‑on experience with legacy equipment management, including lifecycle sustainment and modification efforts.
Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate obsolescence risks to maintain long‑term system readiness
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description.
Clearance This position requires an U.S. Citizen, active Secret Security Clearance, and the ability to obtain a higher clearance if required.
Compensation The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000-$145,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
