Position Overview Dimensional Inspector Apprentice

Shift:
Day Shift or Night Shift
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts to ensure compliance with dimensional specifications
Use measuring tools and instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and tape measures
Record inspection data accurately and maintain proper documentation
Identify and report non-conforming parts to the quality or production team
Assist in maintaining calibration of inspection tools and equipment
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and blueprints
Collaborate with production personnel to resolve quality issues
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including ITAR and other compliance regulations
Basic Skills & Abilities
Ability to use hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
Basic understanding of measurement units and tolerances
Ability to read and interpret simple technical drawings and blueprints
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions)
Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills for entering data or accessing inspection records
Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR requirements (citizen or permanent resident)
Education
Minimum high school diploma or GED required
Vocational training or coursework in manufacturing, blueprint reading, or quality control is a plus
On-the-job training provided
Certifications (such as from ASQ or NMS) are beneficial but not required at entry level
Physical Requirements
Walk and stand for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day) while performing inspections on the shop floor
Physical Demands: the employee is required to – stand, sit, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor -exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or – exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Visual Acuity: Near acuity and accommodation as required for reading MOT, blue prints, machine dial gauges, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts. Will be required to pass annual eye exam
Must tolerate exposure to machining dust, oils, and moderate noise levels in a manufacturing environment
