Overview Full‑time, 40 hours per week with 10‑hour overnight shifts (approximately 7:30 PM–6:00 AM) at Lockport MOB, 1206 East 9th Street, Lockport, IL 60441. Travel is required as needed.

Responsibilities A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Sleep Center Supervisor and clinical direction of the pulmonary physicians. The technologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic, therapeutic services, and education. Responsibilities include:
Gather and review patient information—histories, medications, procedure request, and study protocol.
Explain procedures and orient patients to the sleep lab.
Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring proper functioning and making adjustments if necessary.
Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
Follow procedural protocols such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, etc., to ensure appropriate data collection.
Follow “lights out” procedures to establish and document baseline values.
Perform polysomnographic data acquisition.
Document routine observations and implement appropriate interventions.
Follow “lights on” procedures to verify data integrity and complete the collection process.
Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events.
Generate accurate reports.
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Perform routine equipment care, maintenance, and inventory evaluations.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful completion of an accredited polysomnographic program leading to an associate’s degree with emphasis on polysomnography.
Alternatively, completion of an accredited polysomnographic program with emphasis on polysomnography or completion of an ASTEP Program.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required OR Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) upon hire with RPSGT obtained within 6 months.
BLS certification required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technician preferred.
Compensation The base pay range is $25.94–$38.91 per hour, with actual pay determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
