$18.15 - $27.23 Hourly $37,752 - $56,628 Annually This position is a Pay Band C3
Why does the job exist?
This position assists in the daily monitoring of residents; working closely with education, clinical, and other milieu staff. The duties of this position include but are not limited to, aiding residents in developing life skills, building recreation and social activities and re‑directing patient behavior. This position will require working days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays and includes mandating of overtime. Incumbents will work with teachers in the classroom as well as with residents on the lodge.
How does it get done?
Crisis Prevention Intervention and Trauma Informed Care are the cornerstone of treatment at Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. De‑Escalation techniques and coping mechanisms are offered to residents and life skills are taught to assist with success upon.
Who are the customers?
Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression.
Ideal Candidate
working in a residential treatment facility;
working in a therapeutic milieu;
working in recover‑oriented and/or trauma‑informed‑care environments.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre‑employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
