Student Admissions Assistant – Ohio University
Position Summary: School tour guides and administrative support in Undergraduate Admissions, guiding campus visits, answering inquiries, and assisting with application processing.
Responsibilities
Conduct 60‑ and 90‑minute walking tours of the campus, answering questions and sharing stories of the Ohio experience.
Assist with front‑desk reception at Baker University Center and Chubb Hall, checking in campus visitors and answering phone calls.
Support admissions office in processing applications, scheduling and conducting campus tours, and providing general administrative support.
Make outbound calls to prospective and admitted students/family members and manage inbound email inquiries.
Participate in daily visits, large recruitment programs, special group visits, individual VIP tours, and question‑and‑answer panels.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled for classes at Ohio University during the current semester or the immediate previous semester.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines.
Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Completed at least one semester of classes prior to Spring Semester 2026.
General knowledge of Ohio University and the Athens community.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands Provide walking tours of campus and escort guests to various locations; stand for extended periods; sit at a desk for extended periods with computer use. Occasionally travel off‑campus for meetings and programs.
Schedule & Location Hours generally 8 am – 8 pm Monday through Saturday, with some work required earlier/later or on Sundays. Most tour guides work 3‑10 hours per week. Location: Athens, OH.
Pay Rate $12.00 /hour (base pay range unchanged).
