Base pay range:
$12.00/hr - $12.00/hr
Job Summary The primary purpose of this position is to sort returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications in preparation for washing.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
Open customer returned soil bags (bags weigh ~45 lbs.), discard plastic, spread product out to allow for visibility on soil belt. Pre‑sort classifications as required. Production standard are 45 bags or 2000 lbs. opened per hour for each operator.
Operators located on the work platform float between multiple positions moving up and down the belt sorting into the appropriate bins or slots.
Move empty carts to appropriate area for cleaning and reuse.
Other Functions and Responsibilities
Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
Decisions that require prior approval
Anything unusual or outside of normal operations.
Decisions that can be executed without prior approval
If an attendant sees something in the soil bag other than regular items, they must dispose of it appropriately.
Call maintenance for repair of equipment if something is not working correctly.
Tag broken carts for maintenance to repair.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Continuous tasks: Sitting, Walking, Bending, Standing, Climbing, Kneeling, Twisting, Lifting up to 10 lbs, Pulling/Pushing force 0–5 lbs.
Intermittent tasks: Walking, Bending, Standing, Lifting 10–50 lbs, Pulling/Pushing 5–10 lbs.
Rare tasks: Standing, Lifting 50–100 lbs, Pulling/Pushing 10–20 lbs.
Hand manipulation: simple grasping (right and left hand), power grasping (right and left hand), pushing/pulling (right/left hand).
Work environment: near moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, non‑conditioned facility with extreme heat or cold.
Blood/Fluid Exposure: Category 1 (tasks involve exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue).
