Responsible for supervising and directing all activities relative to the operations of the Holmes Aquatic Center.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers.

Respond to and resolve customer issues and requests.

Supervise staff, ensure aquatic safety, and prevent incidents for all patrons.

Responsible for the daily opening of the facility, including vacuuming, facility set-up, lifeguarding morning programming, and other pre-opening maintenance items.

Responsible for providing lifeguard coverage at scheduled special events.

Assist in training staff in proper safety, rule enforcement, and lifeguarding skills.

Administer first aid to guests.

Responsible for completing daily operation logs.

Monitor pool water chemistry per state code

Monitors and reduces facility operating costs related to staffing

Coordinate and conduct staff orientation and training in proper safety, rule enforcement, and lifeguarding skills

Responsible for inventory of pool supplies

Keeps all attendance records, facility reports, and emergency reports

Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of the facility.

Performs rescues and administers first aid and medical care as needed to guests, employees and supervisors.

Assist in aquatic programming

Follow established City of University Park policies and procedures

Attend all staff meetings and trainings

Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance

Job Requirements If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:

Attend mandatory drug testing

Attend mandatory orientation

Attend all paid pre-season training sessions

Attend all mandatory paid in-service trainings as scheduled

Be at work on time for every scheduled shift

Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol

Wear staff uniform only while on duty

Work weekdays, weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts, and Holmes Aquatic Center special events.

Be willing to substitute for others.

Be willing to work together for the better of the team.

Maintain a clean work environment in and around the facility.

Be available for a minimum of 70 work days during the season.

Knowledge & Skills

Must be at least 18 years of age

Minimum 2 year of lifeguard experience

Minimum 1 year Head Lifeguard experience

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Knowledge of pool operations and maintenance

Preference LGI

Preference CPO or AFO

Working Conditions Work is performed outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Pool Manager will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.

Job Type - Seasonal

In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 in a designated work week.

Schedule The City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. All positions require the ability to work flexible schedules up to 40 hours per week, and the availability to work Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. through 9:0 p.m., including holidays and special events. Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
