Summary
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Pest Management, performs pest management work on District properties in accordance with the District's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) policy.
Essential Duties:
Perform periodic preventative inspections of district facilities to identify pests, pest harborage areas, remedial action, repairs needed.
Comprehend product label, product labeling, and instructions to ensure proper application, mixing, handling, transportation, storage, and disposal.
Identify and develop treatment, exclusion, physical removal, or eviction strategies for pests.
Perform periodic preventative inspection of facilities to determine potential pest harborage areas, remedial action or repairs needed, and establish if thresholds for treatment have been reached.
Perform maintenance-related work to disrupt harborage areas, exclude or evict pests and nuisance wildlife.
Perform inspections to identify potential and active roosting sites of bats.
Communicate with CMPD animal control officers regarding bats found in schools.
Provide emergency response to safety related pest issues as needed.
Maintain pest sighting log for assigned areas.
Remove or dispose of dead animals from district property including cats, dogs, skunks, rodents, or birds.
Document details of work performed; date and time of application; brand name of pesticide applied; percentage of concentration of chemical applied; and location of chemical application.
Provide education to school staff and administration regarding pest treatment and exclusion strategies.
Partner with site administrators concerning pest management needs and policy requirements.
Maintain, calibrate, and operate pest management equipment.
Operate district vehicles between work sites.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
Minimum
High School Diploma or GED.
Desired
High School Diploma/GED.
One year of structural pest or nuisance wildlife control experience.
Licensing / Certification Requirements
Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
Possession of NCDA&CS Certified Applicator card with P&W phase, or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
NCDA&CS Registered Technician card or Certified Applicator card with P phase (Desired).
