Job Description Hotel Hartness is a premier luxury boutique hotel located in Greenville, South Carolina. We are known for refined Southern hospitality and upscale culinary experiences. We are searching for a Pastry Chef who can deliver unforgettable moments through every dessert and pastry we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute innovative and seasonal dessert and pastry menus across all hotel outlets.
Lead daily production and quality control of pastries, breads, and desserts.
Oversee pastry operations for the restaurant, banquets, in-room dining, and special functions.
Ensure all items meet the hotel's standards for flavor, presentation, and quality.
Train, supervise, and mentor pastry team members.
Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of all pastry-related ingredients and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team on menu pairings and event offerings.
Stay current on pastry trends and implement creative techniques to enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications
Degree or certification in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts preferred.
Minimum of 3 years as a pastry chef in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high‑end catering environment.
Strong technical baking and decorating skills.
Experience with plated desserts, buffets, wedding cakes, and banquet production.
Artistic presentation skills and a deep appreciation for visual aesthetics.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Team‑oriented with a passion for mentorship and development.
ServSafe certification preferred.
