Job Summary

The Host or Hostess’s basic function is to welcome, greet, and seat guests in a gracious, accommodating, and professional manner, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction. The service must meet "Lev Group" standards and provide guests with accurate information about the restaurant and its operations. Hospitality standards include: enthusiastic recognition of guests with standards, eye contact, smile, speaking first, engaging in polite conversation, and using the guest’s last name.

Essential Job Functions

Welcome guests by greeting them per company standards. Respond to customer queries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction. Escort and seat guests to their tables or reserved tables. Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service while staying alert to guests’ needs. Handle and process telephone and in‑person reservations using the Open Table system. Maintain cleanliness of hostess stations, menus, and drink menus. Keep current knowledge of the menu, including daily specials. Stay updated on all general activities of the restaurant. Know operating hours, promotions, and events. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Excellent guest service and hospitality skills. Self‑motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Effective listening and problem‑solving for guest concerns. Flexible and able to perform multiple tasks effectively. Friendly, open disposition and professional presentation. Open availability preferred; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working knowledge of computer applications and systems.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for prolonged periods during a shift. Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, with assistance if lifting more. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects. Move quickly and turn from left to right or right to left. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Flexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend.

Education & Required Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum 1-year experience as a Host/Hostess in fine dining food and beverage industry. Minimum 1-year Open Table experience.
