Chess Wizards, Inc . We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable instructors to teach elementary students after school. Make learning fun, create a positive classroom environment, and share the magic of chess while getting paid.
Why Join Us
Competitive Pay: $50–$65 per class (≈1.5 hours)
Flexible Hours: 1 to 5 classes per week on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM)
Travel Compensation: mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles one way
Responsibilities
Lead interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students; keep them engaged and redirect behavior.
Use structured curriculum to teach fundamentals and sportsmanship.
Manage classroom with confidence, positivity, and safety protocols.
Encourage problem‑solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
Travel to local school sites and arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
Qualifications
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, etc.)
Comfort leading a class independently, engaging students.
Professional, positive, kid‑friendly demeanor.
Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; ability to explain concepts age‑appropriately.
Connect chess problem‑solving to real‑life problems.
Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations.
Availability weekday afternoons; dedication to school safety protocols.
Strong punctuality and time‑management skills.
