Job Summary The Food Server provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, operating the cash register/POS system, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area. A focus on customer experience, accurate cash handling, and promotion of casino events is essential.
Shift & Pay Shift: Ranges from 7:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Pay: $7.50 per hour + tips (average $100 per shift)
Responsibilities
Provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
Engages in friendly conversations with guests whenever possible using the 10/5 rule: 10 feet – make eye contact and smile; 5 feet – greet and speak to guests.
Provides personalized service and uses guests’ names at least twice during all interactions.
Greets each guest entering the restaurant.
Operates a cash register/POS system: rings proper amounts, gives correct change, accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales, and maintains integrity of all financial controls.
Keeps the designated working area clean and organized; assists in maintaining the dining room, including the host stand area, as required, in accordance with health and safety standards.
Resolves service issues according to the service recovery toolbox.
Knows and promotes current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas.
Thanks customers, invites them back, wishes them luck, and makes it easy for them to return to play.
Qualifications
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
Prior customer service in a fast‑paced environment preferred.
Previous cashiering experience in a high‑volume restaurant preferred.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Available to work the required schedule, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
Able to work at a fast pace in a crowded/noisy environment.
Must be able to accurately and quickly process all cash transactions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. (cash drawer, register/POS supplies, tables, chairs).
Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder, grip small items, bend, stoop, and twist while handling transactions; stand and walk for up to four hours; use hand motions when receiving payment and giving change; operate the cash register/POS; clean cashier areas.
Must be able to tolerate industry‑standard cleaning chemicals.
Able to tolerate second‑hand smoke, noise, and bright lights.
