About The Role ASCENDtials is building a family‑friendly ecosystem where children can learn, imagine, and feel rooted in culture and community. Our Cultural Storytelling & Children’s Programming Volunteers help create a joyful, safe, and welcoming space for young learners during our farmers market activations, marina events, and one‑day retreats.
This role blends creativity, cultural pride, and gentle guidance — perfect for volunteers who love working with children and believe in the power of story, ritual, and play.
What You’ll Do
Lead or support storytelling sessions featuring global cultural tales, ecological themes, and community values
Facilitate creative play activities such as symbolic art, nature crafts, and hands‑on learning
Assist with our donation‑based daycare station, ensuring a safe, warm, and inclusive environment
Help set up and break down children’s programming areas (mats, books, art supplies, signage)
Guide families through interactive cultural stations (hieroglyph writing, seasonal rituals, global traditions)
Support snack breaks, gratitude circles, and closing reflections
Track volunteer hours through our portal (donation or waiver accepted)
Who You Are
Warm, patient, and naturally great with children
Excited about cultural storytelling, ecology, and community education
Comfortable engaging families from diverse backgrounds
Reliable, communicative, and able to maintain a safe environment
Open to learning our branded storytelling style and ecological metaphors
