Summary Guards campus against fire, theft, vandalism, unsafe conditions, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of campus.
Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Assures that all employees, residents, and visitors follow established policies and procedures.
Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property.
Responds to resident call bells.
Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment in security log for each shift.
In an emergency, may perform simple maintenance duties.
Keeps entry ways and main sidewalks free of ice and snow and calls grounds contractor as necessary.
Complies with safety procedures, infection control and standard precautions.
Complies with confidentiality and residents' rights.
Complies with all CARF/CCAC guidelines and standards.
Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.
