Responsible for developing and sustaining high quality development and learning environments with staffing and support models that provide frequent access to ECE lll’s for guidance. ECE lll’s serve in the support educators role, serving as an effective member of ECE teaching teams and can guide the practice of ECEl’s. ECE lll’s will have completed an early childhood education associate’s degree program. Duties
Assist Early Childhood Educator 3 with both long and short‑range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and MELC philosophy. Works under the direction of the Early Childhood Educator 3 and the EHS/HS Coordinator. Able to apply your knowledge and understanding of the Professional Standards and Competencies with a strong focus on young children in MELC’s birth thru 5 setting. Provide input for bi‑annual assessment of children’s development. Initiate and sustain respectful relationships with families and caregivers. Support young children and families during transitions between classrooms and/or other early learning settings to help ensure a successful continuum of care and education. Keep accident reports. Maintain anecdotal records. Maintain confidentiality. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests. Report any suspected abuse to supervisor. Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with MELC program goals and philosophy. Maintain a safe and healthy environment. Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials. Attend in‑service and staff meetings. Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets. Serve as an effective member of MELC’s teaching teams and can guide the practice of ECE l’s. Meet all applicable licensing regulations. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula. Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for childcare assistants and volunteers. Adhere to Wisconsin Department of Children and Families Regulations, Youngstar requirements and other early childhood best practices. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education required. Registry Level 12 or higher required. Minimum of three (3) years of classroom experience. Experience with a diverse population is a must. Benefits
