Job Description Assistant Traffic Signal Installer responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control devices and traffic signals.
Essential Functions
Locate underground utilities and carefully dig to avoid damage.
Perform manual labor: digging ditches, mixing and pouring concrete, pulling cable wiring, running piping, loading and unloading storage buildings and trucks, loading traffic signals, and unloading poles.
Assist lineman in installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and traffic signal installations; align signal heads, erect span wires, install controller cabinets, set up safety zones, and complete site preparation.
Drive to warehouse to obtain supplies and equipment needed for daily assignments and installations; load, unload, and document supplies.
Operate and maintain work site trucks: perform pre‑trip inspection, check fluid levels and tire pressure, fuel vehicle, and report any problems.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
One year of experience in traffic signal installation or electrical work, or two years of experience in general construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Georgia driver’s license.
Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months of employment.
