Summary Reporting to the Solar Site Supervisor, the Solar Groundman is responsible for vegetation maintenance and abatement. The primary objective is to ensure upkeep and appearance of outdoor environments, including grounds and landscaping at our solar sites.
Principal Responsibilities / Key Results Areas
Conduct vegetation maintenance and abatement on solar power generation plants.
Conduct routine maintenance and repair of vegetation management equipment including mowers, tractors, string‑trimmers, hedge trimmers, rotary cutters, tractor implements, and hand tools.
Use various hand and gas‑powered tools to mow and maintain grass, rake leaves, and prepare grounds for seasonal changes.
Ensure that all co‑workers and contractors demonstrate safe work practices during facilities management activities.
Ensure that assigned vehicle, tooling, electrical devices, software, and company property are maintained.
Maintain walkways, parking lots, and solar equipment by removing snow and ice.
Assist solar technicians with routine and preventative tasks including PV module changeouts and small/general electrical maintenance.
Skills / Experience Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Clear understanding of safe workplace practices and procedures.
