Position Information As a Special Education Paraeducator, you will provide direct support to a student with disabilities in various educational settings. Working under the supervision of a certified special education teacher, you will assist with classroom instruction, behavioral management, and individualized student needs. This is a full‑time, 10‑month, 180‑day school year position, providing 1:1 support throughout all aspects of the school day.
Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education.

Compensation Information
The base salary is $18.54 per hour, fully paid individual health benefits. Those with 3 years of experience as a paraeducator or who hold a bachelor’s degree receive a starting salary of $19.54 per hour.
This position is part of the Des Plaines Educational Support Personnel Association, with salaries under the collective bargaining agreement.
