Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for Special Education Teachers to support elementary students in a school setting located in Des Plaines, Illinois. These contract positions extend through the current school year, with potential emergency days included, and offer a full-time schedule averaging 32.5 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Positions available include: One Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher Two Elementary Resource Special Education Teachers for Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade (one role includes a split schedule between two schools) Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities Collaborating with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom environments Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction accordingly Communicating regularly with parents, staff, and administration to foster a supportive learning community Desired qualifications: Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working with elementary-aged children in self-contained and resource settings Strong understanding of special education laws and best instructional practices Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication and organizational skills This role offers an engaging work environment in an elementary school focused on delivering quality special education services to students with diverse learning needs. The contract duration provides stability through the school year with the ability to positively impact students academic and social development.
