Job Summary The Lancaster County Career and Technology Center is seeking a Part-Time Adult Ed Phlebotomy Instructor at the Willow Street Campus. The part-time instructor's role is to teach adult students. The Instructor shall be responsible for developing curriculum, preparing lesson plans, selecting appropriate books and teaching materials, and successfully teaching subject matter to adult students in preparation for employment as Phlebotomists.
Essential Responsibilities/Skills/Functions
Work independently, under the direction of the Director of Higher & Continuing Education to perform required tasks
Communicate in an efficient, effective and timely manner
Develop individual instructional materials
Aid in the selection of books, tools, and equipment
Maintain accurate records for attendance, progress charts and grade reports
Use proper and accepted instructional techniques to reach adult learners with a variety of learning styles
Assume other essential functions as assigned by the Director of Higher & Continuing Education
Assist in maintaining State and national credentials/accreditation
Assist students to develop skills which will enhance student ability to obtain and maintain employment
Support students in acquiring employment and/or continuing education by assisting in development of resumes and various job search materials
Follow basic first aid procedures as necessary
Completes required paperwork for postsecondary/Adult education programs; and Uses professional judgment to provide and maintain an educational environment conducive to learning
Position Specific Requirements
A valid driver’s license
Child Abuse, PA State Criminal, and FBI Clearances
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Adheres to the established work schedule through regular and consistent attendance
Education & Experience
Current certification or state license as a Phlebotomist
3 or more years of practical clinical experience as a Phlebotomist
LPN or RN preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
The ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage in a complex, fast-paced environment
Salary: $31.50/hour
Schedule: Monday and Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., 90 hour class; 4 classes per year
