The Mixologist/Sommelier will need to be someone who yearns to cultivate the best guest experience possible with the idea that food and beverage are inseparable. In addition, the Mixologist/Sommelier is responsible for managing all daily bar and beverage functions for the hotel company and ensuring a successful 5-star experience for guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for inventory maintenance, restock and maintenance of bar.

Develop a cocktail program to increase revenue and change seasonally.

Monitor bar service standards and adjust as needed.

Assist in restocking of wine and maintenance and upkeep of wine cellars and beverage storage areas.

Understand bar service and operations.

Strong knowledge of wine, beer & spirits.

Assist with the inventory count of bar supplies and maintain a par level of these items.

Assist in managing the ordering and receiving of alcohol.

Assist in setting up of beverage tastings daily.

Train staff on wines, spirits and cocktails.

Ensure beverage coverage is in place at applicable services.

Maintenance and stewardship of the wine list and beverage menus.

Perform supervisor duties in the absence of the Dining Room Manager or as needed.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision of bar staff and all hourly dining room employees.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

4-year degree in culinary arts preferred.

Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.

Technical school or on the job formal training in Wine and Spirits preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members, and managers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic knowledge and understanding of math.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to work long hours and be on your feet for a long period of time.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Dining Room, Outdoor, Bar, and Kitchen areas 5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain property.
