Nurse Externship (Summer 2026) – FMOL Health
Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor, the externship involves coordinating and delivering patient care using the health‑care team philosophy practice model, patient teaching and discharge planning, coordination with ancillary departments, and maintaining departmental and hospital standards. Reports to the Nurse Manager or designee.
Responsibilities Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
Qualifications Education – Must be enrolled in an accredited registered nursing school program and have successfully completed one (1) academic year or two (2) clinical semesters of clinical courses in nursing; must be in good standing in the school of nursing and agree to comply with Mississippi student nurse externship program guidelines.
