Must be enrolled in externship course at nursing school program during time of externship. .
BSN student preferred.**Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:** NA## Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesVerbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to comply with Mississippi student nurse externship program guidelines. Ability to comply with safety, environmental, and infection control standards and practices. Ability to work in a team environment.
**Responsibilities*** Assists with initial and ongoing assessments; develops an understanding of collecting, reporting, and documenting data related to patient care activities.* Assists with treatments and other delegated tasks under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.* Provides hygiene and comfort measures to patient such as feeding, drinking, ambulating, grooming, toileting, dressing, and socializing.* Contributes to the assessment of patients, their needs, and plan of care under direct supervision of a registered nurse. Develops the ability to prioritize and organize patient care.* Practices the principles of maintains a safe patient care environment; complies with safety, environmental, and infection control methods.* Performs as an integral component of the health care team.
