First Shift Responsibilities
Perform basic administrative duties in the office. Assist in research laboratory and support faculty/staff academic programs. Conduct data entry and management using Excel to contribute to scientific manuscript development. Maintain freshwater mussel populations through propagation, animal husbandry, water chemistry monitoring, and facility maintenance. Participate in public outreach events related to freshwater mussel conservation. Provide excellent customer service and strong organizational skills while representing the department and university. Qualifications
Undergraduate student with familiarity in biology, ecology, and taxonomy of freshwater mussels and fishes. Proficiency in Excel for data entry and management. Ability to work flexibly within a 2-3 month timeline. Additional Information
Student Assistant will work within the Aquatic Conservation Center, which is jointly operated by OSU, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and Ohio Division of Wildlife. Background Check
