Community Living Assistant (Part‑time, 3rd Shift) Atlanta Mission provides life‑transforming experiences for over 1,000 men, women, and children daily. The Community Living Assistant is a critical member of our ministry, creating a safe, stable, and healthy community while encouraging camaraderie and a sense of belonging among clients. We are looking to fill a Part‑time 3rd Shift position (11:30 pm–8:00 am) working Friday, Saturday, Wednesday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Client Supervision & Safety: Monitor client activity for safety and compliance with house rules, walk the facility, monitor cameras, stay engaged in client activities; conduct room checks, package/purse inspections, identify & remove contraband; respond promptly to incidents, escalating concerns to the Community Living Leader or Lead Community Living Assistant.

Orientation & Client Support: Conduct orientation sessions for new clients; serve as point of contact for day‑to‑day client needs, concerns, and emergencies; model healthy conflict resolution and guide clients through issues using de‑escalation techniques.

Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and unusual events in Salesforce and Microsoft Office tools; prepare detailed incident reports before the end of each shift; communicate client concerns, needs, and emergencies via Salesforce notes and email updates to appropriate staff.

Medication Administration: Administer medication in alignment with program policy and accurately document client consumption in the medication log.

Relationship Building: Build rapport with clients by maintaining a calm, compassionate, and professional presence; demonstrate strong problem‑resolution skills to maintain a safe and supportive living environment.

Qualifications

Proven ability to de‑escalate conflicts and respond effectively to crises.

Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced environment with frequent multitasking.

High energy, with the ability to engage and motivate others toward a common goal.

Strong communication skills: reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; writing clear reports and correspondence; speaking effectively before groups.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to use Salesforce for documentation.

Prior experience in residential or community living programs.

Training or experience in trauma‑informed care or working with vulnerable populations.

Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements

Standing for long periods, moving to various locations, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, twisting.

Operating computer and office equipment (copy machine, calculator, printer).

Communicating accurate information.

Occasionally lifting / carrying up to 20 lbs.

Peripheral vision and depth perception.

Special Job Requirements This essential role requires availability to work in case of an emergency (public health, weather, government intervention, etc.). Work schedules and job functions are subject to change based on business needs.
