Summary:
Responsible for setting up designated function rooms to group requirements in accordance with hotel standards, providing prompt, courteous and efficient service of food and beverage to guests at banquet functions, and maintaining cleanliness and working condition of all respective equipment, guest areas to all banquet meeting rooms, any hotel location designated for a group function or event, and service areas by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in banquet event order.
Prepares tables, buffets, and dessert table/carts.
Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
Ensures courses are cleared in a timely manner.
Responds to and tries to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements.
Replenishes buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
Monitors tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests.
Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
Buses tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware, and flatware.
Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures.
Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager and completes safety training and certifications.
Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information and protects company assets.
Welcomes and acknowledges all guests according to company standards.
Anticipates and addresses guests' service needs, assists individuals with disabilities, and thanks guests with genuine appreciation.
Speaks with others using clear and professional language.
Supports team to reach common goals.
Ensures adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software and database software.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

Stress management/composure
Thoroughness
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
