Description RC&E is hiring Service Technicians who perform scheduled and contract industrial ammonia refrigeration system maintenance at client facilities. They assist with industrial refrigeration system/equipment installations and equipment start‑up / commissioning at client facilities. They work closely with service coordinators and sales staff to develop long‑term client relationships and prepare recommendations for client facility service / equipment replacement based on service visits.
Key Responsibilities
Executes routine maintenance, contractual planned maintenance contract work, and emergency service work independently or with apprentice assistance.
Completes service reports for planned service and maintenance contracts as necessary for Service Supervisor and Coordinator follow-up action.
Supports customers with troubleshooting their ammonia and synthetic industrial refrigeration systems, including mechanical and control system operation.
Mechanically and electrically services refrigerant compressors, condensers, air units, and other system components and/or assemblies.
Works with tablet‑based service ticket software system to complete service tasks assigned in daily Work Orders (WO).
Prepares and submits all time / Work Order reports daily, including accurate notes/reporting of follow‑up needs and new materials required for follow‑up work.
Ensures Service Coordinator has proper information to complete Work Orders for client billing in an accurate and timely manner, including all receipts for chargeable or reimbursable expenses for the Work Order.
Communicates with Service Supervisors and Service Managers to resolve open issues at customer sites in a timely manner.
Maintains a dignified, courteous, clean appearance and uses company‑provided apparel when working in or at client facilities or otherwise interacting with clients.
Maintains current licenses required to perform the specified service.
Performs other duties as required by service leads and service manager.
Leads the effort to develop and maintain a professional work environment based on the Kelvin Group core values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, and Excellence.
Requirements
High School Diploma
Technical/trade school certificate in refrigeration. Advanced education within the RETA certification 1 through 4 and IR 1‑19/ CR 1‑20 modules.
Advanced OEM training for equipment start‑up and service.
Completion of all required safety and equipment training to perform the services RC&E offers to clients.
Excellent customer service skills and a strong drive to learn and grow in the refrigeration service field.
Travel up to 90% locally in the service branch area with a company vehicle, including travel from home to job sites and to/from the service branch for materials/supplies.
Training/certification to operate a pallet jack, scissor lift and forklift truck.
EPA certification is required.
OSHA 10‑hour certification will be provided.
Ammonia awareness and HAZWOPER training required.
A valid driver's license is required.
