Weekend Service Technician – Charleston, SC
Broetje Automation is the world’s leading expert in aircraft manufacturing automation and robotics. We are seeking a Weekend Service Technician to maintain robotic‑controlled, automated fastening machines at the Boeing South Carolina facility in North Charleston, SC.
Shift Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 6:00 AM
$1.75 per hour shift differential applies to 2nd, 3rd shift, and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Range: $30.00‑$44.00/hr, plus overtime & shift differential
6% 401(k) company match, no vesting period

3 weeks paid PTO + 13 paid holidays (including 3 floating holidays)
Tuition reimbursement up to $10,000/yr

Education & Experience
High school or equivalent AND Technical Certificate or Associate’s/BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls/Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics
3+ years in industrial automation or machine tool maintenance
3+ years with Siemens Step 7 PLC troubleshooting & Siemens 840D series CNC troubleshooting (PLC programming experience ideal)
NEC Certification
Qualifications
Strong understanding of electrical design practices, motion control systems, robotics, programming, and system integration
Extensive IEC61131 PLC programming experience
CNC troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of NC Controllers: Siemens 840D or WINCC
Experience troubleshooting electrical control panels
Strong communication skills with cross‑functional teams and customers
Proficiency with precision measurement equipment (dial indicators, calipers, etc.)
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime
Job Responsibilities
Provide electrical and controls engineering expertise for new equipment and system introductions
Act as internal subject‑matter expert in control systems (Siemens PLC, HMI, motion control), sensors, and electromechanical devices
Apply knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming
Travel to customer sites for machine commissioning and troubleshooting support
Maintain logs and written records of duties performed
