Pay Range
$21.00/hr - $35.00/hr (This range is provided by Enstrom Helicopter Corporation. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.)

CNC Lathe Machinist
Reports to:
Director of Operations
Status:
Non-Exempt
Basic Worker Function Programs, sets up and operates 2‑axis computerized numerically controlled lathe to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, threading, and facing on workpieces, according to specifications, blueprints, tooling instructions, and knowledge of 2‑axis CNC lathe procedures. Maintains a high standard of product and productivity with minimal supervision.
Additional General Description of Tasks Evaluate blueprint and plan sequence for production. As required, program or create programs to produce designated parts. Install holding device and any required tooling. Check and adjust feeds and speeds to insure optimum usage/efficiency. Proactive in cycle reduction on a continuous basis. Change worn cutting tools when necessary. Set work piece coordinates. Obtain first‑run work piece and verify dimensional tolerances. Get check and sign‑off from Inspection. Keep records as required. Train other workers. Serve as consultation resource for other workers in the department. Observe all safety regulations. Other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to set up and run 2‑axis CNC lathe.
Ability to run and hold tolerances of .0005 on 2‑axis CNC lathe.
Ability to read and interpret control console.
Full knowledge of 2‑axis CNC lathe procedures.
Ability to program and edit 2‑axis CNC lathe programs.
Ability to keep current with technology necessary to perform job more effectively as technology evolves.
Ability to read blueprints, job orders and specifications.
Ability to use various sophisticated measuring tools and devices.
Ability to grind and sharpen tools.
Full knowledge of carbide grades.
Ability to utilize high level shop mathematics including trigonometry.
Also must be able to meet personal tool requirements.
