Job Summary
Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and drainage systems of the hospital.
Installs new plumbing components such as faucets, sinks, toilets, valves, etc.; plans installation by studying blueprints and work sketches.
Performs related tasks including maintenance, service, repair, testing, inspection and installation of plumbing/piping systems and components; maintains inventory parts and supplies.
May provide assistance to other maintenance personnel in performing repair and service functions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to six years progressively more responsible experience in plumbing.
City of Detroit plumbing license, or Master’s license as plumber in the State of Michigan, or Michigan State Journeyman Plumber’s license required.
