Position Summary In your role as a Pump Technician you will be a hands‑on specialist who keeps our industrial pumping systems running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will work on the shop floor and will install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of pumps across a full range of industrial applications. Your role directly supports plant productivity, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Role and Responsibilities
Daily Operation & Monitoring
Inspect and monitor pump performance (pressure, flow, vibration, temperature).
Adjust control settings, set‑points to keep the system within design limits.
Log real‑time data and flag any abnormal trends.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Carry out scheduled inspections.
Use diagnostic tools (pressure gauges, vibration meters, leak detectors) to isolate faults.
Installation & Commissioning
Oversee install of new pumps and piping, ensuring proper alignment, correct labeling, and maintenance zone.
Verify pump performance against specifications.
Safety & Compliance
Apply Lock‑Out / Tag‑Out (LOTO) procedures before any maintenance work.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
Assist in safety audits and update training records.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare reports for plant maintenance, engineering, and management.
Keep detailed, accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and part‑usage records.
Prepare daily or weekly status reports for supervisors and plant planners.
Update SOPs and relevant Confluence pages when procedures change.
Stakeholder Interaction
Coordinate with plant maintenance, process engineering, production, and capital‑project teams.
Communicate effectively with vendors and external service contractors.
Skills and Qualifications
High‑school diploma or GED is required.
An associate’s degree in mechanical technology, HVAC, plant maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience maintaining or operating industrial pumps (centrifugal, positive‑displacement, or vacuum).
Prior experience with pump installations, calibration, and routine maintenance tasks.
OSHA 30‑hour general industry safety course – preferred.
Any HVAC or mechanical maintenance certification (e.g., HVAC‑E, ASE mechanical) is preferred.
The current base salary range for this role is between $21.00 - $60.40. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
