Pay Range Base pay: $4,930.00 - $5,901.00 A. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Job Description and Duties The Carpenter I will perform carpentry duties throughout the hospital, including estimating labor and material costs, keeping simple records and reports, maintaining accurate record keeping, instructing and leading unskilled assistants, reading blueprints, working from plans and specifications, and adhering to all safety and security policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
Implementing carpentry construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
Adhering to building, construction and safety codes applicable to the carpentry industry.
Maintaining tool control policy and procedures.
Working with supervisors to assign tasks and monitor project progress.
Maintaining confidentiality on sensitive and confidential issues.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications:
Completion of a Carpenter Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Good interpersonal skills, dependability, and ability to follow directions.
Ability to work as part of a team and promote positive work relationships.
Additional requirements:
Must pass a drug screening prior to hire.
Must complete the Carpenter I Exam Bulletin as required for list eligibility.
Additional Information Regular and consistent attendance is critical. The incumbent may be required to work any shift, overtime, and float to other locations as needed. Employees must have an annual health review and meet infection control standards.
