Role Summary Repairs/rebuilds customer equipment, including but not limited to centrifugal pumps, vertical turbines, positive displacement pumps, air operated pumps, vacuum pumps, blowers, gearboxes, mixers/agitators, etc. Maintains a high level of service quality to support the company’s sales efforts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and service industrial pumps and other rotating equipment.
Partner with Sales Engineers, Applications Engineers, Repair Coordinators, Service/Repair Management, and other internal stakeholders.
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
Select parts from a repair parts list and reassemble rotating equipment.
Sketch or fabricate parts or products as required.
Measure, mark, and write dimensions on material or workpieces to guide subsequent machining.
Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and other accessories on machines such as mills, lathes, and balancers.
Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjusting controls or media as required.
Perform manual milling and general machining operations: drilling, milling, slotting, and boring to ±0.002” tolerances.
Conduct manual turning operations: boring, grooving, threading to ±0.0005” tolerances.
Operate surface grinding machines (wet/dry) with ±0.0002” tolerances.
Install machined replacement parts into mechanisms and machines, performing unit tests to ensure functionality.
Coordinate work schedules with the Service & Repair Manager.
Assist with repairs at customers’ sites, adhering to customer safety rules and policies.
Drive and safely operate company-owned vehicle/service truck.
Maintain a safe and clean work area, using required safety equipment.
Travel for training or customer assistance as necessary; must be able to travel overnight and manage approved travel expenses.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED, or 3–5 years of related work experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience repairing/rebuilding industrial rotating equipment, including pumps.
Experience with gearboxes, valves, blowers, heat exchangers, and other rotating/process equipment is a plus.
Ability to use micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other measuring tools.
Proficiency reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, and service manuals.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently and in a team.
Positive “can‑do” attitude with emphasis on safety compliance and OSHA regulations.
Customer‑driven approach, excellent communication, and professionalism.
Physical ability to lift >100 lbs occasionally, >50 lbs frequently, and perform repetitive motion tasks.
Language Skills Must read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, write routine reports, and present information effectively.
Mathematical Skills Basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals.
Computer Skills Basic computer and internet software knowledge.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver’s license with no traffic violations.
Equipment Operated Forklift, hoist, crane, hand tools, power tools, drills, band saw, drill press, lathe, mills, and other required equipment.
Physical Demands Heavy work requiring manual handling, climbing, balancing, and occasional exposure to chemicals and mechanical hazards. Must meet vision standards, maintain alertness, and adhere to safety protocols.
Work Environment Exposure to moving machinery, fumes, airborne particles, weather, and vibration; moderate noise level.
