We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Painter/Finisher
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, detail-oriented, and possess a strong background in finishing high‑end architectural millwork and custom cabinetry.
Key Responsibilities
Execute all phases of wood finishing, including preparation, sanding, staining, sealing, priming, and top‑coating of custom cabinets and millwork to achieve an exceptional, high‑quality final product.
Operate and maintain High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray equipment for a variety of coatings, including lacquers, conversion varnishes, polyurethanes, and paints.
Inspect, clean, fill, and sand wood surfaces; apply professional caulking and wood putty to prepare components for finishing.
Accurately mix and tint stains, paints, and clear coats to specified color, gloss, and viscosity standards, including precise color matching when necessary.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment; inspect finished work for defects such as runs, sags, dust, and inconsistent sheen and perform necessary touch‑ups or repairs.
Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on spray booths, guns, pumps, and all related finishing equipment.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of professional experience as a Painter/Finisher within a custom cabinetry, millwork, or furniture manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining HVLP spray equipment.
Experience in mixing and matching wood stains and opaque finishes.
Strong practical knowledge of various finish materials (e.g., catalyzed lacquers, conversion varnishes, water‑based finishes).
Ability to perform high‑quality caulking and filling of seams and joints on assembled cabinetry.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing defect‑free, high‑end work.
Ability to lift and move materials, stand for long periods, and perform physical work required in a shop environment.
