About the role This position is responsible for the build and repair of new and existing dies, tooling, and automation components. This position provides support to the production departments by assisting in solving problems and repairing existing tooling and automation.
Responsibilities
Interprets tooling specifications, blueprints, and sketches
Plans sequence of operations for fabricating components
Sets up and operates mills, lathes, grinders, including CNC controlled, and other machining equipment
Makes and repairs cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
Fits, assembles and trouble shoots dies, molds, and assembly equipment
Takes direction from the section Technician III or from the Tool Room Manager
Analyzes the assignment and proceeds in a professional, timely manner until the assignment is complete
Informs Toolmaker III of project progress and completion
Completes assignments within proper quality specifications
Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Ability to use precise measuring instruments
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to apply problem solving skills
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level
Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree in technical field preferred
Tool and Die Journeyman preferred
Travel
Up to 5% may be required
