Job Summary The Sheet Metal Mechanic works under the guidance of a Field Superintendent or Project Manager. This role follows all safety rules, collaborates closely with a team, and may serve as a guide for other employees. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to enforce safety regulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Layout sheet‑metal components (ducts, hangers, etc.)
Measure and mark dimensions for field installation
Drill holes for screws, bolts, or rivets
Install sheet metal with supportive framework
Field‑fabricate or alter parts to meet site requirements
Sketch duct fittings
Maneuver and anchor large sheet‑metal ducts and parts
Fasten duct joints to complete heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Enforce safety rules consistently
Guide other employees when required
Qualifications Required Education And/or Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
HVAC sheet‑metal and installation experience.
Valid driver's license with insurable driving record.
OSHA 10 certification desired.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Preferred Education And/or Experience
Knowledge of the construction industry and documentation.
Understanding of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to operate forklift and/or scissor lift.

Work Environment Field work may involve exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, high or precarious places, dust, fumes, chemicals, weather extremes, and moderate to loud noise. Travel to field locations is expected.
