Major Areas Of Responsibility
Fabricates packages for compressed air, gas, process gas and hydraulic applications.
Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly and schematic drawings.
Assembles and mounts fabricated and purchased components using drawings provided by engineering.
Verifies dimensions and squareness.
Aligns and levels components to design tolerances.
Layout, design, and installation of pipe runs with experience fitting and threading ¼ “to 2” pipe.
Layout, design, and installation of small diameter stainless steel tubing runs.
Layout/design and installation of conduit runs using a Greenlee Electric Bender and pulling/terminating wires in a panel or box.
Identify, label, and install various components, pipe runs, and devices.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical assembly, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic drawings.
Strong shop math and measurement skills.
Likes variety of tasks and multi‑tasking.
Must possess own hand tools and storage box.
Proven mechanical aptitude using a variety of hand tools and shop equipment.
The ability to work as a team or a proficient self‑starter when required.
Welding experience is an added benefit in some departments.
Essential Physical Functions Needed
Stand for extended periods of time.
Climb and work from ladders.
Work from an Aerial Lift.
Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Work from a kneeling or laying position when required.
Equipment Used
Common hand tools: Drills, grinders, cutters, torque wrenches and impact wrenches.
Common shop equipment: Pipe/tubing/conduit benders, pipe threader, drill press, power saw, saw, welder, and ironworker. (plasma or oxyacetylene torches)
Industrial fork truck
Overhead/gantry cranes
