As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, your responsibilities include:
Providing resources and tools to support associates delivering best customer service.
Assisting with down stocking, area recovery, and contributing to merchandising decisions.
Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
Coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage.
Conducting customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs and identifying solutions, and closing sales.
Managing non‑customer-facing activities (down stocking, inventory management, area recovery) and store safety (safety walks, reporting hazards, understanding safety and lifting directions).
Communicating with leaders to identify best practices and inspire customer-focused behavior.
Supervising associates in other departments to meet store demands.
Occasionally opening/closing the store or serving as manager‑on‑duty (MOD).
Travel as required for meetings, trainings, or support of neighboring stores.
What We're Looking For Expectations for this role:
Hourly Full Time schedule of 39‑40 hrs, with additional hours as needed.
Availability any day of the week – morning, afternoon, evening.
Physical ability to perform prolonged standing, sitting, and lifting tasks; lift 25 pounds independently, more with or without assistance.
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 3‑5 years retail experience (at least 3 years retail, 1 year customer service, 1 year supporting Pro customers, etc.).
Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct reports).
Experience in training, mentoring and developing associates.
Experience working cross‑functionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of retail customer service experience.
3 years supporting Pro customers.
Leadership role with direct report responsibility.
Experience in home improvement retail sector.
Experience in fast‑paced retail environment.
Experience in key carrying role with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
Experience with store computer systems (Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).
