Sales Floor Dept Supervisor - Flooring-Decor
Pay Range: $21.00/hr – $27.00/hr (Base pay)
Responsibilities
Provide resources and tools to support associates delivering quality customer service.
Assist with down stocking, inventory management and area recovery, and contribute to merchandising decisions.
Monitor use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
Coach and train associates, delegate daily tasks, monitor performance and ensure adequate department coverage.
Perform customer-facing activities (greeting, clarifying needs, closing sales) and non‑customer-facing activities (down stocking, inventory tasks).
Conduct safety walks, report hazards, and understand lifting directions.
Communicate with leadership about concerns, issues, and morale.
Occasionally open/close the store or serve as manager‑on‑duty.
May travel to meetings, trainings or support neighboring stores.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and either 3 years of retail experience or 5 years in a retail environment.
1 year of customer service experience.
Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct reports).
Experience supporting or participating in training, mentoring and development of associates.
Experience working cross‑functionally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of retail customer service experience.
3 years of experience supporting Pro customers (if applicable).
Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
Experience in key carrying role with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
Experience using store computer systems such as Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
Full‑time, generally 39 to 40 hours per week; may need additional hours.
Open to morning, afternoon and evening availability on any day.
Physical ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
Must lift 25 lbs without assistance; may lift over 25 lbs with or without assistance.
