As a Machine Operator II you are responsible for operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately while maintaining a high level of concentration, precision, and mechanical aptitude.
You must follow all safety guidelines and adhere to quality and safety policies.
Responsibilities
Operate all machinery such as rail/bar saws, drills, and CNC mills.
Use CNC software for computer-aided manufacturing.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Convert drawing requirements into a CNC program using G‑Code and M‑Code or modify existing programs.
Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate, specification‑compliant results promptly.
Review and understand the daily production schedule.
Adjust work‑holding clamps/fixtures as necessary when setting up a new part.
Perform pre‑shift equipment inspections and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual circumstances.
Perform first‑article inspection.
Monitor operations and take corrective action as required.
Verify parts being produced by maintaining established quality standards and following quality procedures.
Prepare and maintain records and reports as needed.
Ensure that the work area and equipment are kept clean, safe, and orderly.
Understand and adhere to plant safety and quality policies.
Apply strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tools.
Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Organize time effectively to meet production deadlines.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education & License Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2–3+ years of experience operating machinery in a production environment required.
Experience with Haas mills is desirable.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Measure and inspect parts using precise measurement devices.
Use math to take precise measurements and make calculations.
Follow complex written instructions with clear guidelines and procedures.
Perform actions without being prompted.
Work with hands, loading, unloading, stacking bars, and using grinders.
Operate hand tools.
Lift up to 70 lbs.
Accurately read tape measure and micrometer.
Identify material differences.
Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues efficiently.
Stand for long periods and lift heavy materials as needed.
