Job Description Prime Conveyor Inc. is an industry-leading manufacturer of conveyor systems and equipment located in Merrillville, IN. We are seeking a Welder looking to start or further their experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you will do:
MIG welding on steel parts and frames
Read blueprints and follow shop drawings
Operate grinders, drills, saws, and other shop tools
Work with the team to keep jobs moving on schedule
Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean
Operating production machinery, hand tools etc.
Follow written and verbal work instructions
Complete paperwork including weekly timesheets and material order sheets
Work from prints to manufacture parts
Qualifications & Experience
Welding experience (MIG required; TIG a plus)
Able to read a tape measure accurately
Knowledge of heat settings and wire speeds per material
Ability to read and follow blueprints and engineering drawings in the English Language
Able to safely use grinders and cutting wheels
Welds must be structurally sound, clean, and able to pass inspection
Must have own basic hand tools
Strong mechanical skills and good with tools
Reliable and able to work full shifts on your feet
Forklift or crane experience is a plus, but not required
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
Have a GSD (get stuff done) attitude
Steel toe boots
Ability to lift 40 lbs
May also work in assembly from time to time
