Job Description Manufacturing high quality medical devices by operating semi-automated and automated equipment ensuring maximum efficiency with minimal scrap and rework. The primary responsibility is the operation of plastics processing equipment to the specified standards. This position performs diverse operations including plastics processing, equipment set-up, packaging of medical devices reading and interpretation of blueprints, travelers and SOP codes all while ensuring acceptability of product.

Responsibilities

Operates a variety of equipment in the plastics processing operation, while achieving quality standards, production plans, department metrics and cost objectives.

Works independently to perform machine changeovers, including the successful shutdown and start-up.

Ensure components meet product specifications and established quality requirements.

Makes minor adjustments and performs troubleshooting logic to maintain part specifications and conformity. This is to be accomplished by adhering to all operational guidelines established by SOP/operational codes

Assist in PM and basic ascetics maintenance of assigned machinery

Reads and interprets a broad variety of work schedules, travelers, bill of materials, blueprints and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)

Accurately records information on travelers, time tickets, bin tickets, stock issue/returns and other product and process documentation; operates bar coding and other computerized equipment

Sets up work station with necessary equipment and supplies as per job assignment

Determines and/or follows proper procedures involving a broad range of components which requires one or more of the following: molding, packaging, weight counting, preventative maintenance, and operating equipment per specifications.

Manages in order to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory/legal requirements

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements

May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to actively communicate with Production Coordinator and/or Production Supervisor. Education / Experience

High School or GED Level of Degree in the general education field of study preferred

1 year of demonstrated experience in mechanical aptitude

Certificate / Licenses / Registrations

Education documentation is required. Any other licenses or registrations to Professional Societies are to be provided by the candidate at his/her discretion.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is required

Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision or direction

Ability to seek guidance with superior when necessary.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Physical Demands

Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.

For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify manager/supervisor immediately.

Exposure to Manufacturing Clean Room environment

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35lbs

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs

Ability to regularly stand and walk to perform production tasks. Required to perform repetitive movement while demonstrating proficient hand and eye coordination, hand dexterity and good vision.

Continual attention to the accuracy of documentation

Noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet.

Noise level in the production work environment is loud.

Working environment is dynamic and as a result can be stressful for some people.

The anticipated salary range for this position: $18.50 - $26.75 Hourly. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
