Production Associate - Non CDL (Truck Driver)
The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people’s lives through the collection and resale of gently used goods. This role supports the work‑therapy program by driving routes for pickup and drop‑off of donations to the warehouse, assigned donation boxes, and donor homes.
Responsibilities
Ensure security and safe operation of the vehicle; promptly report all accidents or property damage.
Conduct daily walk‑around inspection of vehicle (air, water, oil, etc.) and report any issues.
Maintain cleanliness of truck cab and box; remove personal items daily.
Plan and execute daily routes, making scheduled pickup calls and handling assigned boxes.
Follow the “Manual for Production Assistants” in all customer interactions and pickup procedures.
Keep a professional appearance in compliance with the dress code.
Maintain accurate records (delivery manifests, trip logs, Green Sheets, etc.) and adhere to communication procedures and 10 codes.
Load and unload truck safely, securing materials with blankets, ropes, etc. to prevent movement or damage.
Assist Thrift Store personnel with proper placement of items upon delivery.
Supervise a truck helper, modeling professional conduct and work habits.
Support additional duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license for assigned vehicles with an acceptable DMV record; must pass a driving test.
Physical ability to lift 100 lbs.
Proficient in reading maps, planning and prioritizing routes.
Competent with an iPad for GPS navigation, texting, and truck inspection reporting.
Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
Medical card, if required by city or state authorities.
Requirement to undergo and pass a DOT Physical.
